Happy Thanksgiving!
The Texas Mitchells had their first family Thanksgiving! Ben and I both baked and cooked and even though it was just two of us at the dinner table, we named all the things for which we are so thankful...the most important one being a big, beautiful, healthy boy named Quinn! Unfortunately, Q was sleeping during the actual feast, but he enjoyed the times of the day when he was awake. Like watching part of the Macy's parade and watching the Texas and A&M game. He even decided to peform for us by rolling over a few times on his floor mat. What a great day!

Conversations with Q
Falling consumer prices contributed heavily to the decline in overall spending. The so-called core PCE deflator rose by just 2% in the past 12 months, down from 2.2% by that measure in September.
The Dow Jones industrial average (INDU) and the Standard & Poor's 500 (SPX) index both gained about 0.6% over 2 hours into the session, while the Nasdaq composite (COMP) gained 2.2%.

Conversation in the Doctor's Office
Young Girl (maybe late teens, early 20s): How old is your baby?
Ben: 12 weeks as of yesterday.
Young Girl: He's a tank!
Nurse: Quinn Mitchell....
Good thing the nurse called us. Quinn may have had to beat up the girl's scrawny kid.
Oh yeah, Quinn weighs 15 and 1/2 pounds! And his eye is all better! Salve works on everything!

I Hate To Do It, But....
Okay, today I became the mom that shoves her kid in front of the tv just so she can get some things done! Who knew Quinn would enjoy Disney movies this early (hint to grandparents for Christmas presents)? He "watched" Aladdin for almost and hour! I was able to get dinner done (just a pizza), do a load of laundry, and unload/load the dishwasher!

Conversation in the Mall
The scene:
Mall elevator...going up
The characters:
Me and Quinn (in stroller)
A Dad and his baby boy (in stroller)
Random Lady
Me and Q are standing beside the Dad and his baby boy. The strollers are side-by-side.
Random Lady: Aw. They look the same age. How old are they?
Dad: Mine is 7 months.
Me: Quinn is 11 weeks.
Random Lady: To me. Yours is SO big!
Me: Um. Thanks?
Dad gets mad and huffs over the elevator.

Getting to Know Quinn
Since I am sure ya'll are getting tired of seeing pictures of the little man, I thought I would tell you a little something about him. As you can see from the videos, Quinn has started babbling and singing..mostly singing. He is SUCH a morning person (yet another characteristic he doesn't get from me) and wakes up with smiles and giggles everyday. He also enjoys morning reflection time alone in his crib with the help of the 3 elephants on a string- but for no more than 15 minutes usually.
Throughout the day, we sing and dance, read, go for walks, and have tummy time. And sometimes, we break out the Ergo Baby carrier (thanks Niki!). He enjoys listening to the silly songs Ben and I make up and seems genuinely interested in my old sorority songs- poor guy. At the moment, his fave song seems to be "Head, shoulders, knees, and toes" along with the hand motions. But the BEST part of the ENTIRE day is when he discovers the ceiling fan as if it were the first time he had seen it! If he's sitting up, he'll throw himself back just to get a better view.
In the evening, Quinn looks forward to his bath. He's so calm and chilled out during the actual bath and then seems to meditate afterwards. Seriously! He doesn't talk or play....just lays there so I can lotion him up and takes everything in as if he's reflecting on his day. It's the most precious thing to watch!
Oh, one last thing- Quinn loves Eskimo kisses! But who doesn't?
